 Why Bhojpuri Group is created?

Common Cultural Heritage: This Group is created to have a common platform for the People who are associated directly or indirectly with Bhojpuri (which is spoken on all the six continents). The Bhojpuri people share a common custom, social and cultural bond. In spite of their distant relocation their culture, rituals and customs are intact and are almost same where they are in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, MP etc. in India or anywhere else in different part of the world.
The group provides opportunity to share our experiences, our concerns, our social, political and personal views whatever with others.
By doing so,  This group intends to make our people  aware of the fact and figures about the language, its people and its region. It tries to imbibe into the mind and into the sub-conscious of the Bhojpuri People that they are part of a great Global Community who are as talented as versatile, as intellectual or as progressive as very few community of the world are. And Still it is not recognised or given due importance by any one. A sort of communication vacuum is felt among Bhojpuri People. This group will help remove the gap and act as a bridge among different people and will develop among them a sense of community feeling.

Social and Economical Bond:

One need not feel ashamed of today's faceless Politicians of our region or the poor people of Bhojpuri region. The poor people of Bhojpuri region have been forced to leave the land in the absence of employment opportunities in and around this region. The lack of infrastructures for vocational training force them to resort to work as Construction workers in south and west India, as farm workers in Punjab and Haryana, as Coolies in all most all the cities of North India, as Rickshaw Pullers in Kolkata and Delhi, as Taxi Drivers in Mumbai (almost 90% from UP) and Kolkata (almost 95% from Bihar), as Pan-walas and Chai-walas every where. These people are sneered at  and made butt of jokes. Their poverty is a laughing stock for others.  Even the rich and enlightened our own people do not comfort these people even by few words of sympathy and take evasive stand.
Bhojpuri Group aspire to remove this feelings of non-attachment among Bhojpuri and develop a community feeling among them. Whenever a you see a poor share his agony and comfort him by saying few encouraging word.

One must look at the fact that our such poor people have become the  ruler of the land where their ancestors have settled as indentured farm workers. History is witness. Just see Mauritius, Guyana, Fiji, Surinam & Trinidad. Tomorrow you will find some Bhojpuri people as CM of Punjab or Delhi.

Contemporary Approach a Modern Need:

To march with other Indian Community on the net such as Punjabi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali etc. So much and so many are there on the net for these people and 'Humani khatir kuchhu naikhe !!  kehu naikhe!!'. I strongly felt the need for this group and created this group with 5 people.

Gradually many people started joining this group. On the average 2 persons are joining this group every week.

Atithi Pustika - The Guest Book of Bhojpuri Sansar : Background [ Hosted at free site to be this service may be discontinued anytime.. .]
Just one morning  a mail from Asgar Ali of Guyana was received by BK Pandey, Moderator of the Bhojpuri Group. First he thought it is a virus. As it was from xx.juno.com. But one Mr Asgar had visited the BhojpuriSansar web page hosted at geocities by BK Pandey and was searching his roots in India. And he created a Atithi-Pustika for Bhojpuri People to make a meeting place for their friends and relatives.  Again Esther Lyons wrote to him to find the where-abouts (phone no) Latona, her birth place in Bihar, she is Anglo-Indian of Bhojpuri Speaking Mother and American father. Read her entry and others at  Atithi-Pustika and enter your name also there.
